Meet Conner
Conner chose to join the electrical trade because he wanted to pursue a more hands-on career. Being able to admire his work once the job is done is what he considers most fulfilling about being an electrician, but he also enjoys the work itself.
“Seeing the finished product is always the best part to me… Electrical is just a very satisfying field to be in.”
Meet Scott
Scott considers NEXT to be a very unique company because of its work culture. He shares that NEXT is made up of young and passionate people who “do whatever it takes to take care of our customers and our employees.”
“NEXT Electric is a truly unique company because of our culture. We’re a young, hungry, aggressive group. We don’t like to lose and we do whatever it takes to take care of our customers and our employees.”
Meet Johnathon
Johnathon likes being able to visit various sites when on the job. He enjoys the regular change of setting that comes with being in the electrical field.
“NEXT takes care of their employees. We have every tool we could ever need provided for us and anything safety-related they take care of, so it’s a good company to work for.”
Meet Marcus
Marcus has been in the trades since 2017. He chose electrical over the other trades because of the many avenues electrical work offers. He appreciates that he’s able to do something different every day and feels that the work would bore him if he had joined a different trade.
“With other trades you’re kind of stuck doing the same thing every day, when as an electrician you’re doing different things every day and it’s not as boring.”
Meet Tara
Electrical work always came naturally to Tara and she was on job sites very often growing up. When she got the opportunity to pursue a trade, she accepted it. Tara thinks of her trade journey so far as generally easy-going, and she even views the challenges she encounters as rewarding.
“Being a woman in the trades is challenging in some aspects, but a majority of the time it’s very easy-going and I think the challenge is really rewarding.”
Meet Mike
Mike has been an electrician for over a decade. He appreciates that his work at NEXT allows him to make use of his hands and work alongside a very supportive team.
“My experience with NEXT is great. I haven’t had any drawbacks with anybody. Everybody’s been super supportive. We’ve always had the right amount of tools, manpower, equipment—whatever you need they’re more than willing to work with you on. We’ve never had an issue with anything along those lines.”
Meet Steve
After Steve served in the military, he began trying to figure out what he wanted to do next. Not long after, he discovered that the electrical trade was a line of work that would be very lucrative. For this reason, he ultimately decided to pursue a career in it.
“There was a tool I used that projected where wages would be going in the future. There were more people getting out of the electrical trade than there were getting into the trade and that made for more competitive wages. Competitive wages equals more money, which equals a better life for you, and that’s ultimately why I got into the trade.”
Meet Dean
Dean chose to work in electrical because he believed he would find himself succeeding more in a trade than in college. He appreciates that there are so many opportunities for advancement in the trades and enjoys the challenges and versatility that come with electrical work.
“I’ve been with NEXT since day one. I like the culture here a lot. It’s very much a family…They want you to succeed. They’ll give you the tools you need to succeed. Whatever drives you is how far you can go.”
